Frankeland Group optimises digital collaboration with new social intranet

The Frankeland Group has successfully implemented a renewed social intranet that optimally supports employees in their daily work. The care organisation, consisting of several residential care centres, home care and assisted living complexes, worked closely with a&m impact and IT service provider Pink Elephant to achieve this.

An intranet that matches the modern digital workplace

The switch to Microsoft 365 made it clear that the existing intranet was no longer adequate. With the realisation of the new social intranet, Frankeland Group now has a central platform that is fully compatible with the modern digital workplace. The intranet forms an accessible and user-friendly ‘shell’ around all digital tools within the organisation.

Easy navigation and smart choices

User-friendliness was central to the design. The structure of the old intranet was largely retained, allowing employees to immediately recognise the new platform. Instead of extensive group structures, a flexible tag system was chosen. This keeps the intranet clear, manageable and allows employees to quickly access relevant information.

Active internal communication

The social intranet now plays an important role in day-to-day communication:

  • News and announcements are shared almost daily.
  • Time-critical updates are made visible via a prominent notification bar.
  • Interaction takes place in a controlled way via polls and likes, helping the organisation keep the flow of communication manageable.

Future-oriented expansion

The intranet has been running for over a year and a half now and is being used intensively by Frankeland Group's approximately 1,300 employees. In the coming period, the organisation will explore further expansion possibilities, such as reservation functionalities for rooms and materials.
It is also looking at integrating around 600 volunteers so that all stakeholders within Frankeland Group can collaborate and communicate via the same platform.
